edunny > The Potter's House Coffeehouse was founded in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington DC in the 1960's. It was created in order to offer hospitality and to provide a space in which to bring together people of various backgrounds.

edunny > The name Potter's House initially came from Jeremiah 18:1-2 which reads, "Arise and go down to the Potter's house and there I will let you hear my words." This combination bookstore and coffeehouse has been the point from which many of the Church of the Savior's ministries have been envisioned and brought into being.

edunny > Adams Morgan is an eclectic neighborhood. This CVS Drugstore posts side by side an advertisement for vitamin enhanced water as well as a sign warning that "Persons coming into this area to buy drugs are subject to arrest & seizure of their vehicle." One assumes the drugs inside the store are exempt.

edunny > Members of the Potter's House Church and Jubilee Church meet together each week at The Potter's House for singing, prayer, scriptural study and a shared meal.

edunny > Each Tuesday night the Servant Leadership School hosts a dinner and speaker on various topics.

edunny > The Servant Leadership School of the Church of the Savior calls itself an "Ecumenical center for theological reflection and spiritual formation." Classes are semester length and cover a variety of topics including The Power of Prayer—The Joy of Relationships and Servant Leadership and The Emerging Church.
